Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing operations, activities, and projects out of Warri and its surrounding areas. This role ensures that all operations meet client specifications, adhere to international engineering standards, and are delivered safely within the approved budget and schedule. The Operations Manager will lead and control all activities related to operations and project execution in the Warri region.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee field operations and activities in the Warri area, providing support for multiple concurrent projects.
• Coordinate resource planning, cost estimating, and scheduling in collaboration with Resource Management.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage projects in compliance with company policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
• Supervise field operations and project support teams directly.
• Lead field operations staff, including involvement in employee selection, training, and performance management.
• Coordinate business development, project development, and field operations to ensure client safety, cost, quality, schedule, technical, and operability objectives are met, integrating safety into all aspects of project execution.
• Solve complex technical issues requiring broad knowledge of technical and functional responsibilities.
• Provide expert engineering guidance and project leadership.
• Collaborate with the business development team to discuss project specifications and procedures.
• Oversee research, development, testing, and evaluation efforts for projects.
• Develop detailed plans for field operations and project execution, integrating technical activities.
• Review and approve contracts and cost estimates for project execution.
Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Membership with the Project Management Institute (PMI) or a related professional affiliation is advantageous.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience managing a wide range of project activities, including design, procurement, scheduling, budgeting, fabrication, operations and maintenance, and commissioning.
• PMP Certification is a plus, with proficiency in computerized project management and reporting tools.
• Working knowledge of engineering and asset integrity management practices.
